Wisdom Workforce Development Interns Complete Internships on Wednesday:

Wisdom and project partners ignored the snow flurries sweeping across Wisdom Gardens Wednesday afternoon as they gathered to honor and acknowledge eight Wisdom Workforce Development Interns and Crew Leaders. These team members received their Certificates of Completion following three months of classroom education in environmental assessment and habitat restoration plus service learning activities in local natural areas.

Portland Parks and Recreation, Johnson Creek Watershed Council, The Intertwine Alliance, East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District and West Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District all joined Wisdom staff and interns for a lunch of Indian tacos, followed by a brief program. Certificates of completion were passed out and each intern spoke briefly about their experiences as a WWD Intern.

Wisdom is recruiting a new group of Native American adults to serve as WWD Interns starting in January. If you are interested or know of someone who might qualify, please watch for our January newsletter or go to our website to find information and an application form.
