Each of our programs includes six regular features:

Elder Wisdom
Gifted elders and oral historians share stories and wisdom that reflect authentic, rarely shared perspective from their native culture.

Artist Spotlight
This feature spotlights music from Native American musicians.

Health and Healing
Herbalist Judy Bluehorse Skelton (Nez Perce and Cherokee) reveals the depth and science of indigenous health and healing.

Tribal Rhythms
Nico Wind (Assiniboine Nation) shares stories, songs and dances of traditional and contemporary Native American music.

Taheebvu Chadi
The late award-winning singer, Judy Trejo (Paiute) shares stories and songs from Paiute and other southwestern cultures.

Turtle Island Storytellers
Creation, animal and other traditional stories from across Turtle Island


 

 

Wisdom of the Elders: Series One

Wisdom of the Elders , the new series of eight one-hour radio programs from Native America launches soon on public radio stations and the American Indian Radio On Satellite (AIROS) radio network.

We're weaving a rich tapestry of oral history and storytelling from indigenous elders along with special features on health and healing, grandmother's culture, and music - both traditional and contemporary.
