Producer Brian Bull

Brian Bull (Nez Perce), is Assistant News Director of Wisconsin Public Radio. Bull has produced a variety of news stories for public radio programs such as All Things Considered, Morning Edition, National Native News, The World , and also did several commemorative pieces for AIROS on the first anniversary of 9-11. Bull has completed freelance work for PBS, Minnesota Public Radio, NPR's Cultural Desk, and Morning Edition. He is a former participant in the NPR Diversity Initiative, and has participated in workshops and conferences dealing with ethics, talk shows, and news coverage, and is also active in mentoring other Indian journalists for NPR's Next Generation project. Bull has received dozens of awards, including the presitigious Edward R. Murrow Award, several Associated Press Awards, two Silver Microphones, two Communicator Awards, and received the "Overall Excellence in Radio" award from the Native American Journalists Association in 2001. Recently, South Dakota Public Radio's news department received the UNITY Award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association, for outstanding coverage of Native American issues across the region.
